ABOUT US

Cornell Dolbin is a journal for people who buy technology to get work done. Honest guides for the curious user, written by practitioners rather than salespeople.

Who we are

We are a small crew of developers, IT administrators and marketers who got tired of reviews that read like press releases. Cornell Dolbin started in 2021 as a shared notebook of lessons from real deployments. Today it reaches thousands of monthly readers choosing software, laptops, hosting and security tools for homes and small teams.

Our mission

We make technology decisions cheaper and clearer. Every week we publish free news and buying guides across five sections: Software, Hardware, Web Hosting, Online Business and Cybersecurity. You get real 2026 prices, setup steps and the checks that expose a bad deal before you pay for it.

Editorial standards

No sponsored picks, no pay-to-rank lists. We buy at retail what we test, disclose relationships, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Numbers come from vendor invoices, public price pages and our own benchmarks, never from press releases. If a tool fails in real use, we say so. Our ethics follow the guidance published by the Society of Professional Journalists.

The team

Cornell Dolbin (editorial and testing), Maya Chen (software), Daniel Ortiz (hardware), Aisha Bello (hosting and SEO) and Owen Park (cybersecurity). Supported by contributing engineers who review every guide before it ships.
